New toy specifically for autistic children.

Hot Wheels has created a toy car that’s specially made for kids with autism. It’s different because it doesn’t have a normal top or bottom, front or back. They’re symmetrical. They can roll right side up and upside down exactly the same. It has large wheels suspended at the midpoints and there’s a rotating center piece that that spins independently from the rest of the car.

I was explaining all of this to a friend whose son is autistic. He said that the rotating center piece is a really good idea because many autistic kids use things like fidget spinners to help them focus.

These Hot Wheels for autistic kids are called “Flippin Fast”. They’re the same price as other Hot Wheels at about $1.25. Mattel put out another toy for autistic kids in 2022 called Bruno. He’s a character with autism in the Thomas and Friends franchise.
