Lincoln Police are investigating a bizarre accidental shooting. Captain Todd Kocian says it happened around 5:00 Wednesday morning near 58th and J Street. “Officers contacted a 68-year-old man who indicated he had a bad dream and believed someone was breaking into his residence.”
Kocian says the man then reached for his handgun next to his bed. “He discharged the weapon without realizing his hand was in front of the weapon.” The man was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
To add insult to injury, he was cited for unlawful discharge of a firearm.
