Lincoln Police Searching for Identity Fraudster, Bank Bag Thief

By Chase Porter Apr 17, 2024 | 6:00 AM

Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in solving two separate cases: one involving a bank bag larceny from D’Leon’s, and the other involving a case of identity fraud.

The first case occurred on March 18th, 2024, around 6:30 a.m. at the D’Leon’s Taco Rico near 12th and South Street.

Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says a suspect could be seen playing slot/skill-games for a short period of time, and upon observing the clerk counter to be unmanned, went behind the counter and stole a bank bag containing $2,000 cash.

Photo and video of the incident/suspect can be viewed below.

The next case occurred on March 29th, 2024, when Lincoln police became notified of a serial fraudster making multiple withdrawals from a victims bank account.

The suspect first arrived at First State Bank on S. 27th and Grainger Parkway, and made two withdrawals using the victims social security number, checking account number, and a fake ID. The first withdrawal was for $7200 and the other for $6850.

Next, the woman went to the First State Bank branch near 48th and Old Cheney and attempted to withdrawal another $5000.

Staff at the Grainger Pkwy branch became suspicious, and flagged the account in time for the Old Cheney branch to divert the woman from withdrawing  those additional funds by the time the suspect arrived.

A photo of the suspect can be viewed below.
