Lays potato chips has teamed up with Smartfood popcorn for a new popcorn flavor………. Sour cream and onion popcorn.
I like using onions to flavor all sorts of dishes that I make. But, popcorn? Eh……. I don’t know. I could stop by Sam’s Club, the only place you can get this particular Smartfood popcorn, but I’m not ready to drop 6 bucks just to taste it. Also, it’s been my experience that it’s hard to make flavors stick to popcorn unless they’re literally sticky like caramel or butter.
Just last week, I picked up a bag of pickle flavored popcorn at Aldi because Jenny likes pickle flavored chips and she loves popcorn. It’s alright, but as she noted, it’s like the flavor isn’t part of the popcorn. It’s like you taste popcorn and you taste pickle dust that may or may not stay on the kernels. It’s sort of like a margarita with salt on the rim. But, instead of taking a drink and licking the glass, you eat a handful of popcorn and lick the bottom of the bag.
