Young Lincoln Entrepreneurs Ready To Showcase Their Products

By Tom Stanton Apr 18, 2024 | 4:00 PM

This Saturday 70 businesses owned and operated by kids ages 4-16 will be showcased during the annual Lincoln Children’s Business Fair outside Acton Academy near 14th and Yankee Hill Road. Organizer Zach Harsin tells KLIN News says the one day pop-up shop will allow kids to sell real products and services for real money.

“Everything from your simple baked goods and lemonade stand to face painting, to jewelry, to games.”  Harsin says they will also have someone doing metal work on site.  He says each entrepreneur developed a brand, created a product or service and built a marketing strategy prior to opening to customers.

Harsin tells KLIN News the marketplace gives kids a taste of what owning a business is all about. “Learn through failure, having to manage money and a budget and all of the things that come from running a business.  They just get to do it in the microcosm of a one day event,” Harsin says.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their wallets and support the youngsters.   It will run from 12-2 p.m.
