Is a Golden Retriever still a Golden Retriever if it’s born lime green? A Miami puppy surprised everyone when she came out the color green. The rest of the litter are all golden, but the puppy’s fur was stained by something inside her mom. It’s called biliverden, a green bile that sometimes ends up in the womb’s of mother dogs. It’s not permanent and will probably wear off in a few weeks. None the less, the puppy’s humans named her Shamrock.
Looking at Shamrock makes me think of Skittles candy for some reason. She’s super cute. She also reminds me of my little brother Tim who was born with blonde hair, but it turned black after a year. He wasn’t as cute when he was born. In fact, I may or may not have asked if we could return him at the time.
