If your favorite singer writes a bunch of songs, but uses an AI program to do the singing in his or her particular voice and manner, do you still consider it one of their albums? Are you still going to be excited to buy them music?
Country music legend Randy Travis, who suffered a stroke and isn’t able to speak or sing well anymore, had his people recreate his voice with an AI model and put out a new song called “Where That Came From”.
In a press release, Randy said, “Eleven years ago I never thought I would be able to have a hand in music production of any kind. But by God’s grace and the support of family, friends, fellow artists and fans, I’m able to create the music I so dearly love.”
So, even if some people think it’s not right, I do see how it can make an artist’s life more fulfilling again.
To me, this sounds just like Randy. What do you think? Also, what do you think about any artist doing this?
