Buzz Feed just did a story taking about what people are doing to save hundreds of dollars every month. One person said they have reusable paper towels. Reusable paper towels are made of mostly cotton. A roll of these things costs around 20 bucks, but you can use them over and over. Or, buy a stack of cotton dish rags for about 5 bucks.
Another person said bringing their own lunch and snacks to work saved them $400 a month. A coworker who orders delivery fast food every day told me he did the math for last year. It was in the thousands. Blew my mind.
Another tip was not buying new clothes for a year. Definitely do that if you can. Even a pack of underwear costs over 20 bucks now. Someone said they’re only buying second hand clothes. Skip that one for the underwear. And my favorite listed was that someone bought a bread machine for $15 at a thrift store and now they’re making their own for pennies a loaf. Sandwich bread should not cost $5.
Ever use Vasoline to make our shoes shine? How about brushing your teeth with baking soda? This video has a bunch of money saving ideas if you can fit them into your life. The shower one makes me cringe though.
