A couple in Queens, New York, went fishing and pulled out a small, metal safe full of cash.
They were doing what’s known as “magnet fishing”. People drop heavy duty magnets in lakes to grab any metal objects. Because, it’s every woman’s dreamy romantic scenario……… muddy shoes, used beer cans, and all the rusty refrigerators you could ever ask for.
The safe these two found had $100,000 in it in $100 bills. But they were smart about it, taking the whole thing to the police in case the money was connected to some kind of crime. The police said they wouldn’t be able to connect it to any cases and let the couple keep the money.
Still……… have they not seen “No Country For Old Men”. Guy finds bag full of money. It doesn’t turn out well. The only people I can think of that throw safes full of money into lakes are cartels. Also, old rich guys with monocles who want to see how many poor people will fight over it.
