New scam in NE involves cows.

By Austin Michael Aug 6, 2024 | 6:55 PM

What has the world come to when people are now being scammed by cows? Not the cows themselves. They don’t have fingers to set up fake websites or phone numbers. I mean, there’s a fake cattle ranch, supposedly in Broken Bow, that has gotten thousands of dollars out of people who thought they were buying cows.

The Miniature Highland Cattle Farm set up a website using stock and stolen pictures from other cattle sites saying it was their ranch. They also list an address in Broken Bow that the police say doesn’t exist. Several people have reported sending money to this “business” for cows, but never received the cows. And they also said they were threatened when they asked about it. How does that work? Is there a guy with a rough Italian accent saying something like, “People who ask so many questions could find themselves sleeping with the cows.”

The website says they need a down payment and can handle shipping. Does Amazon have boxes big enough for cows? What if you want to return it? The site does look kind of legit. They even have a long page of supposed testimonials. Although I didn’t see any that say, “They stole my money.”
