Nebraska men’s basketball Fred Hoiberg will have his pacemaker replaced Friday, a release from the Nebraska Athletic Department announced Monday.
Hoiberg had a pacemaker installed in 2005 after open-heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. It will be the second time Hoiberg has had his pacemaker replaced. He also had the pacemaker replaced in 2014.
The Huskers will have their first public workout Oct. 4 as part of Opening Night at the Railyard, ahead of Oct. 27th’s exhibition game against Grand Valley State. Nebraska opens its regular season against Texas Rio Grande Valley on Nov. 4.
