Lincoln Police took part in a traffic safety enforcement project October 10-23. “Officers with advanced training in traffic enforcement worked throughout Lincoln to monitor areas with
high instances of reported and observed traffic offenses,” says Captain Todd Kocian.
Funded by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office, the project allowed officers to work overtime to focus solely on stopping traffic offenders.
Officers made 35 traffic stops and issued 46 citations.
26 of those were for speeding and nine citations were issued for no registration. Four people were cited for not wearing a seat belt.
