Four Nebraska volleyball players were honored with All-American recognition by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Wednesday. Lexi Rodriguez and Andi Jackson were first-team All-Americans, while Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly took second-team All-America honors.
Rodriguez, a senior libero, becomes just the third four-time All-American in program history, joining Sarah Pavan (2004-07) and Kadie Rolfzen (2013-16). Rodriguez adds this honor to her considerable haul including National Freshman of the Year (2021), Region Player of the Year (2004), and first-team All-Big Ten (2021-24). Rodriguez could add one more massive trophy to her case: AVCA National Player of the Year. One of four finalists, Rodriguez is seeking to become the first-ever libero to earn National Player of the Year. She averages 3.91 digs per set and is just eight digs shy of tying Justine Wong-Orantes’ school record for career digs, 1,882.
Jackson has captured her first-ever All-America honor. She earned first-team All-Big Ten this season after second-team honors last year. Jackson progressed in her sophomore year, averaging 2.57 kills per set, up half-a-kill per set from last year. She averages 1.19 blocks per set and is hitting .427 entering the NCAA semifinals.
Reilly is a second-team All-American for the second straight year. In her two years as a Husker, she’s earned two Big Ten Setter of the Year awards and two first-team All-Big Ten honors. She’s boosted her assist per set by 0.50 assists per set to 11.09 this season. Murray boosts to second-team All-America honors this year after grabbing third-team honors last year. Murray adds this honor to two first-team All-Big Ten honors and Big Ten Freshman of the Year last year. She averages 3.37 kills per set along with 2.41 digs per set.
The Huskers are in Louisville, Ky., preparing for the NCAA semifinal match against Penn State Thursday at approximately 8 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 7 p.m. on KLIN and B-107.3.
