LSO Investigating Theft of Several Road Signs

By Tom Stanton Jan 11, 2025 | 6:01 AM

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says someone has been stealing road signs over the past several days in the southwestern portion of the county.  “Dirt road signs, some stop signs, I think a speed limit sign,” says LSO Captain John Vik.

He says there have been seven locations where the signs have been taken and believes all are related because they were all in the same area.  “It seems to be in an area from about SW 2nd to SW 29th Street and W. Stagecoach to W. Panama Road.”

The signs have since been replaced by the county and Vik reminds residents that possession of a road sign is a Class 3 misdemeanor punishable by fines and potential jail time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
