This is off-putting and frustrating. A photo posted on Reddit is causing a stir because a hotel in Florida is charging $50.00 if you put anything inside the mini-fridge in your room. There’s a sign on the fridge alerting guests of the policy. The mini-fridge has a sensor that can detect if something was placed inside.
REALLY?? Come on!
I’m going to presume this particular hotel in Florida (Marriott) is enforcing the policy so you don’t buy your OWN stuff and keep it in the mini-fridge . . . assuming the hotel wants you to buy their expensive refreshments, etc.
You might get out of the charge if you tell the front desk that you need the mini-fridge to store your medication? That’s a hack that has worked for some people.
