Can’t fall asleep? Try “savoring”

It’s happened to us before (or maybe all the time) . . . you’re laying in bed and you can’t fall asleep.

Perhaps this hack can help?  I’m definitely giving a shot next Sunday night.  Brain never wants to turn off on Sunday night (Sunday Scaries).

Here’s what to do . . . as you’re laying in bed, think back to a HAPPY memory.  If you really put yourself there and recreate the experience, you’ll fall asleep.  The technique is called “savoring.”

Here’s some tips to maximize your “savoring” experience:

  • Pick your happy memory beforehand
  • Practice your happy memory during the day, and be patient because it might be hard at first
  • If you tend to lie in bed worrying about stuff, schedule 15 minutes of worrying time earlier in the day (it’ll make you less inclined to worry at night)
