CGI is great for movie explosions and aliens and everything impossible to do in real life, but would a movie spend thousands of dollars it takes to create a simple kiss on film? According to Andrew Schulz who was in “You People” with Jonah Hill and Eddie Murphy, the kiss towards the end of the movie between Jonah and Lauren London was computer generated. Andrew was on a podcast a few days ago and said that while they were filming a wedding scene, they went in for the kiss, but their faces were too far apart to do it. He added, “But in the movie, you can see their faces come close. And then you can see their faces morph a little bit into a fake kiss.”
I watched the clip. It looks real to me. Although, it’s not a passionate kiss, It’s a quick peck on the lips. Nobody’s mouth is open. Seems, as an actor, you could put up with that instead spending 13 hours in a computer lab making it look like it.
