My wife was just in Arkansas last week. I should have made sure she stopped by the Crater Of Diamonds State Park. People seem to be finding giant diamonds there all the time lately. On March 4th, a guy found a 3.29 carat diamond. That could have been Jenny, but nooooo, she had to visit her best friend who she hadn’t seen in 4 years. I thought a diamond was a girl’s best friend.
Actually, I love my wife and value her happiness above finding shiny stones. Also, this guy, David Anderson, is one of those guys that spends all is extra time there without much of an actual life. He’s found over 400 diamonds there over the last 16 years. Only 15 have been over a carat.
The diamonds you find there aren’t polished or cut. They’re usually pretty ugly. So, what do you do with them? How much would you have to pay someone to spiff them up? I bet if it’s less than a carat, it would cost more than the diamond is worth.
