There’s been a lot of talk about how scary things might get with artificial intelligence. One guy who helped develop it just quit Google so he could talk about how dangerous it can be. And yes, I have personally seen the horror of what comes from an AI’s mind. I have seen the fake TV commercials that they have been creating lately. They’re fever dreams of our favorite products like pizza, chicken nuggets, and beer.
They’re kind of fascinating to watch because these spots are the culmination of billions of pieces of data brought together and refined into the common words and images that are used to sell these things to the masses. Not to get philosophical, but these tell us as much about human and society as it does the AI.
Also, I’ve been asked to read and produce commercials that were much worse than these things. Just sayin’.
