Don’t complain that Netflix isn’t letting you steal anymore.

People with Netflix are saying they’re going to cancel or already have cancelled their subscriptions because Netflix is now cracking down on password sharing. To me, that’s the height of being entitled. You pay less than 15 dollars a month to stream tons of shows and movies every month and you’re angry because they’re protecting their company against stealing? Because that’s what it is when you give your password to someone else who isn’t paying in a completely different house.

If I paid you to mow my lawn, wouldn’t you be irked if I told you my brother lives in the house next door and that I want you to mow that lawn too without an extra fee? Yet, almost every remark I’ve seen on social media is someone complaining that their family members like grand kids or kids at college or cousins can’t watch from a different house any longer. That’s not how it works. That’s stealing.

I’m not saying this on Netflix’s behalf. I’m just calling out a first world problem that no one should get upset about. But sure, let the boycotts begin.
