You have a week to get dad a gift for Father’s Day. I looked online for ideas and apparently everyone thinks you have a massive bank account too. Glamour suggests A Lulumon shirt for $88, a smart ring that is basically a glorified Fitbit for nearly $400, and $550 Apple headphones. Esquire’s list if full of alcohol related gift ideas, $150 colognes, and a luxury watch subscription card.
My father wouldn’t know what to do with any of the things As a father myself, I wouldn’t want my son spending that kind of money on something like a Charvet Silk tie that costs $300. Good grief. I’m a lot like my own father. I like gift cards. It’s like having an ace in the pocket. If something comes up that I need, then boom, I got it covered on the cheap with a gift card.
Although, Esquire did list the Hoka Clifton 9 sneakers. That’s actually worth the $145 bucks. Hoka shoes are so comfortable. I have three pair at home. 2 pair have been gifts. They don’t pay me to talk about the shoes. I just like them a lot.
The CNN list this year has a lot more practical gift ideas like the Look Optic reader glasses. I especially like the description they give, “it was finally time to upgrade his cheap CVS glasses and gift him these more stylish frames”. That’s literally my life. I bought a $10 pair from CVS years ago and got a much nicer pair for Christmas last year.
Here are the links to each list I mentioned.
