Otter attacks, sends 3 women (who were tubing) to hospital. 1 in serious condition.

Last week a sea otter was scaring surfers off their boards and then steal those boards. It was kind of cute and funny. This week, three women were floating on inner tubes down a river in Montana Wednesday just having a relaxing time. That is, until a river otter attacked them. It was so bad that one of the women had to be airlifted to get emergency treatment. Authorities think that the women may have come too close to baby otters and the mama got over protective.

River otters get to about 3 or 4 feet and between 11 and 30 pounds. So, it’s scary to think it could have done so much damage. This may sound silly, but the experts do have advice for surviving an otter attack. You are supposed to fight back, get away and out of the water, and then seek medical attention.

I thought I was going to have to fight off a big dog just two days ago. I was in a store’s parking lot, just getting out of my car when I hear a loud growl then bark and a thump right next to me. It was a pickup with a large dog inside, window cracked open a few inches, and a large dog who jumped at me, hitting the window, as I got out of my car. Two more jumps and he probably would have broken the window.
