New hope for kidney transplants.

By Austin Michael Aug 17, 2023 | 7:55 PM

In health news, more hope for people needing kidneys. Doctors recently transplanted a pig kidney into a brain dead man and it’s worked normally for over a month. A month doesn’t sound like a long time, but it’s a pretty big step when talking about using animal organs in humans. This is the longest it’s worked. And they didn’t announce it because it stopped working. It’s still going.

I heard about this on GMA this morning. I said to my wife, “I’m guessing it’s from a genetically modified pig.” Guess what? Called it! They have to genetically modify the animals because our bodies normally reject animal organs. So, what we need to do is create a race of Hogumans. We can transplant their organs and then have a nice BLT with what’s left.
