It was a medical first recently in Australia. Doctors pulled a 3 inch long worm out of a woman’s brain where it had been living as a parasite for about two months. They say there has never been a documented case like this ever. But they say it’s probably going to keep on happening. What they think happened was that this woman was foraging wild vegetables to eat. The area she was getting them from has a lot of python snakes. This particular worm is common to pythons. So, pythons who have the worms leave their dropping all over the area. The dropping have the eggs. The woman eats vegetables with all that on them. The woman ends up with a 3 inch worm in the frontal lobe of her brain.
Doctors didn’t know it a worm until they actually opened her head up because the MRI just showed damage in the frontal lobe. The woman had been having cough, fever, night sweats, forgetfulness, and depression. But they say she should recover well. They also say that we’ll probably see more of this over the coming years.
You know where there are a lot of pythons? Florida. I’m just saying.
