FYI, You can get arrested if you ride a horse while you’re drunk. Earlier this week in California, a patrolman noticed a man riding a horse on the highway while carrying an open container of alcohol. He was charged with a DUI. If he would’ve just rode the horse off the side of the road, on someone’s lawn or anywhere but the highway, it wouldn’t have happened. In California, if you are riding an animal on the highway, you are subject to the same laws as other vehicles. They point out that even riding an animal while drunk makes you a danger.
You know, I’ll never forget that time that I saw a drunk rider crash his horse through a guardrail and down a ravine where it exploded just like in the movies.
Apparently the same thing can happen in Nebraska. Not the exploding horse, I mean getting a DUI while riding one drunk. If you really want to get away with it, try Montana. It’s perfectly legal there.
