After Sunday’s Husker Volleyball game, Coach Cook started by saying something along the lines of, “I hope the mayor and chief of police were here watching tonight……”. I heard that and thought he was going to thank them for coming or mention how much of an inspiration the team was. I sat up in my chair when he started talking about out of control driving on “O” street. He said that Lindsay Krause couldn’t play Sunday night because she got rear ended and the other driver took off. Click the play button to hear Coach Cook talking about it.
I agree. I see guys on motorcycles zooming down “O” at 70 miles an hour on one wheel all the time. There are tread marks all over from cars speeding off. Can we also do something about the people running red lights. Every………. Single……….. corner and every single light. I’ve seen 5 cars run a single red light at 48th and “O”. One after the other like lemmings. I know several people who have been hit because of it. Not too long ago, I got hit by………. You guessed it. Someone who ran a stop sign.
I know the police are stretched thin. What would the logistics be of putting cameras on streets? I’m pretty sure that if my wife can get the bill for a speeding ticket in another state without ever being pulled over, we could do something in Lincoln.
