Pieces of the volleyball court used at Memorial Stadium are for sale. It’s a small plank of wood set in a special plaque. The plaque is covered by a picture of the stadium in the sunset from that evening. The view is from above the stadium and jets are entering from the right. It also has wording commemorating the world record attendance.
The piece of the court looks like one of those little wooden or laminate square samples you can get at Menards. I have about 10 of those at home. I use them to keep older furniture level. This though, you’ll be hanging this somewhere on a wall. They’re not cheap at $92.03. The price threw me for a moment with the 3 cents. Then it hit me. Ohhhhh, 92 thousand and 3 people attended the game. They made 5,000 of them and I wouldn’t be surprise if they sold out by the time I post this blog. But, here’s a link to the website to buy one just in case.
This is not an ad. They didn’t pay me. It’s just a part of Husker history I thought that you, my friend and listener of B107.3 would find interesting. Also, probably a good x-mas gift idea.
