Bellevue Park is offering scary drive in movies through October starting the 13th. Ohhh. That sounds fun. I mean, scary movies are great on the big screen in theaters, but I remember seeing a “Cujo” and “Creepshow” double feature at the drive in when I was a little kid. There was something about being outside while seeing scary movies that made it even more frightening. Maybe it was the idea that something could be lurking in the backseat or just outside the car. And those terrible speakers that you hung on your window. I think that somehow added to the atmosphere.
Anyway, it looks like there are going to be some slashers and some more family oriented thrillers. Each night will be a double feature. Food trucks will also be on location at Falconwood Drive In.
Remember when drive in style set ups were making a comeback during the pandemic? Wal-Mart was showing movies in their parking lot. Too bad it didn’t stick.
