Senator Bostar serves on several committees within the legislature including the Revenue Committee; the Banking, Commerce and Insurance Committee; the Rules Committee; the Planning Committee; Committee on Committees; and the Executive Board. In addition to his service in the Nebraska Legislature, Bostar serves as the Vice-Chair of the Lincoln Water 2.0 Commission and Chair of the Assemble Lincoln Committee of Lancaster County.

“I’m running for re-election because there’s more work to do,” said Bostar. “I want to ensure that Nebraskans who work hard can provide for their families, and that our community is safe, affordable, and vibrant, a place everyone is proud to call home.”

Senator Bostar has worked on and helped pass numerous legislative bills affecting Nebraskans:

  • Funding for a second water source for Lincoln
  • Funding for a new convention center in Lincoln
  • Capping the cost of insulin
  • Requiring health insurance to pay for breast cancer and colorectal cancer screenings
  • Implementing policies to make childcare and housing more affordable
  • Adding resources to training programs to help workers gain access to higher paying jobs
  • Improving safety and working conditions for first responders to recruit and retain top talent
  • Supporting tax cuts, including eliminating income taxes on social security and military retirement benefits, and providing income and property tax relief to Nebraskans.

Bostar serves on the Governor’s Taxation and Valuation working group and the Childcare Committee of the Workforce working group. Additionally, he was appointed by the Legislature to represent Nebraska as a delegate on the national Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board.

Outside of his public service, Bostar serves as the Executive Director of Conservation Nebraska — an organization focused on protecting clean air and water.
