I saw a video this morning of a man delivering a package to someone’s porch in Kansas. He sat it down, took a picture like some of the delivery services do to prove it was delivered……………… and then picked it back up and stole it. The delivery guy! See it 30 seconds into the video below.
Porch pirates are out in full force again. Most seemingly appear out of a time tunnel from 2010 because none of them seem to know about door cameras. And what are most of them stealing? I checked Amazon’s best seller lists. It’s likely that these Oceans Eleven wannabes are taking Echo Dots ($22), toiletry bags for men ($18.99), and Max Trap Pest Glue Traps ($20.78).
By the way, porch pirating doesn’t seem to be an issue in Lincoln at the moment. It has not been mentioned in any police briefings this season. Speaking of the police, there are several places around the country where you can have packages delivered to the local police station where you can pick it up. I like that idea. I don’t think many people have ever visited a police station. It’d be interesting and education for the public and a chance to meet the people who protect the city, building a better relationship. I might even gift them one of the candles I’m going to make with the candle molds I ordered from Amazon to be delivered soon.
