An ad on tv this morning made me not want to see the movie. The movie is “American Fiction”. The reason I will probably never watch it now is because the ad never, not once, said what the movie was about. It just kept bragging about how many obscure movie awards it has won. Oh, it took home 6 Plume de Hor Dourves or whatever. Also, “Critics say it’s a must see”. Why do they say that? The commercial never explains it. The commercial also mentioned that it stars Jeffery Wright. Ok. The guy from West World and Boardwalk Empire. I like his acting. I sat forward a little in my chair, but the commercial just showed him hugging people and laughing. Just tell me what the movie is about.
Actually, I went to you tube and pulled up the non “We won a bunch of awards you’ve never heard of” trailer. It kind of looks good. Predictable, but good.
