Mixed precipitation has fallen early Monday morning ahead of the arrival of heavy snow later this morning. As a result, some icing is expected in and around Lincoln as conditions deteriorate.
Total ice is expected around 0.01 inch but that’s enough to cause slick conditions especially on untreated surfaces. Snow fall totals for the storm remain with with a better than 70% chance Lincoln will receive 8 or more inches of snow.
Winds will be switching to the Northwest later today and pickup with gusts overnight into Tuesday morning possible in the 40 to 45 mph range which could cause blowing and drifting as well as reduced visibility.
