Serial killer cold case solved by high school students.

By Austin Michael Jun 17, 2024 | 6:55 PM

A high school teacher in Tennessee wanted to do a sociology experiment with his students. He brought in a bunch of info about 6 murder victims of a serial killer; ages, occupations, where they were found, etc. Then the teacher asked the students to profile the killer….. A serial killer that hadn’t been caught. What do you think happened?

They got in too deep. Then, one by one, the killer picked off the entire high school class after calling them and asking about their favorite Tom Hanks movies. If they said Cast Away, he’d beat them over the head with a volley ball. If it was Joe Versus the Volcano, he threw them in a a vat of boiling gravy.

Actually, they helped solve the case. They showed their profile to the police and local media. People started turning in tips. It turned out to be a guy who had been sent to prison for attempting to strangle a woman to death. They ran DNA and connected him to several other murders on the students’ list.

The teacher plans on seeing what students can do with wrongful convictions next.
