The Lincoln Airport’s rescheduled showing of “Field of Dreams” will take place this Friday, August 30, for the next installment of the LNK Outdoor Movie Series
Starting at 7 PM, attendees can drive in and set up their blankets and chairs on the west side of the airport, in front of the old Cold War hangar where the movie will be projected.
A selection of local food trucks will also be present, a live singer and various baseball activities for the whole family.
“We have some local baseball clubs coming out, doing drills with the kids. They’ll be holding a throwing and hitting contest,” says Airport Communications Director Rachel Barth. “We see is a lot of grandparents bringing the kids out, lots of teams coming out as a bonding exercise. You can bring your own food, or take the night off from cooking and enjoy some of our local food trucks.”
Food Trucks will start setting up at 6 PM, and the movie will begin playing around dusk at ~9 PM.
Attendees are instructed to go to the west side of the airport, to the open green space. Parking is first come, first serve starting at 7:00 PM. Staff will assist with parking. An FM transmitter will allow movie-goers to tune in and hear the movie audio at 87.9.
While the event is free, attendees are asked to register ahead of time online to provide a head-count for organizers and food trucks. RSVP at eventbrite.com.
