Olympic Athletes Sleeping On Cardboard Beds – And the real, not rumored, reason why.

By Austin Michael Jul 19, 2021 | 7:05 PM

The beds that athletes are sleeping on at the Olympics are made out of cardboard.

There’s a rumor going around that they’re made to break if athletes decide to hook up. That’s not true. The real reason is that Japan wanted to be more eco-friendly. They want to make sure that after the Olympics are done, there won’t be a lot of stuff going into landfills. The beds will be turned into recycled paper.

As for that rumor, it’s well known that there is usually a LOT of spit swapping between Olympic athletes at games. I’m thinking it’s very doubtful that an unusable bed is going to stop anybody when the mood strikes.

“Oh no, now there’s only that desk, the shower, those chairs, and the floor. Might as well just call it a night.” Right.

An Irish athlete who’s there disproved the bed rumor but video- taping himself jumping up and down on one. They look pretty sturdy.
