Baby mice bred from 2 dads, literally.

By Austin Michael Feb 11, 2025 | 6:30 PM

Chinese scientists say that they’ve bred baby mice without having a female mouse involved. I’m saying that these baby mice were made from 2 daddy mice.

There’s actually a good reason for this. They’re trying to learn more about unhealthy genetic traits passed on by fathers and mothers. It’s easier to seclude those genes and tweak them when they produce offspring completely from one gender. The hope is that this research can one day help with human gene editing using medical drugs.

Actually, Japanese scientist have already been doing this for a few years. However, the Japanese mice didn’t live to adulthood. The Chinese used a different method and their mice are staying alive.

I just have one question. If the 2 dad mice have a daughter, which one has to pay for her wedding?
