The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department has issued a public health advisory following the release of untreated wastewater into surface waters near N. 20th Street and N. Gate Road.  This water flows into Salt Creek near N. 27th and Fairfield streets.

According to the health department the release occurred between Sunday and Monday.  After being notified of the release , the department took immediate actions to stop the release and address the affected areas.

However, health department officials urge residents to use caution and avoid direct contact with the surface waters near the release site and Salt Creek.  Children and pets should also be kept away from the affected waters to prevent exposure to potential contaminants.

For questions about the advisory, residents can contact LLCHD at 402-441-8002.
