Just a heads up that Saturday is National Cookie Day.

Delish posted 91 different cookie recipes in a slide show. Everything from Snowballs to Sugar Cookie Trees. The Sugar Cookie Trees are multiple cookies stacked with frosting in between to look like actual Christmas trees. The Crème Brulee Sugar Cookies look pretty tasty too. Here’s where you can check out all of those recipes and decide which ones you want for dessert.

Cookies first appeared in America in the 1620s. The Dutch brought them. Back then, like most things today, cookies weren’t like what we know today. They were more or less like crackers or thin wafers.

As for modern day cookies, Keebler sprung from humble beginnings and a single bakery in 1853 in Philadelphia. Oreos got their start in 1912. They were a copy- cat of the Hydrox cookies. Although, most people think it was the other way around. Toll House Cookies began in the late 1930 and their chocolate chip cookies are considered to be the first chocolate chip cookies.
