There’s an eggnog cocktail now that has Coca Cola in it. It’s being served at Disney World and sounds like quite the drink; eggnog, Coke, Hennessey, and cinnamon. All that for $15.
It sounds crazy and enticing at the same time to me, so I contacted Jay over at Rumology. H’s the guy that comes up with all of their craft cocktails. I asked what he thought of this. His first response was, “Eggnog with coke??????”. He didn’t seem to hip on it, so I asked for some pointers for getting crafty with Eggnog. His number one tip is cinnamon and make sure your egg nog has rum in it.
I want to test out the Coke thing though. So, I think I’m going to make some egg nog from scratch using George Washington’s recipe. Then I’ll add the Coke, Hennessey, and cinnamon, but not a lot of cinnamon. I’m not a big fan of cinnamon in drinks. As for the Coke, it’s used in a ton of other drinks, so I don’t imagine it’ll be all that bad in eggnog.

Here’s the George Washington recipe:
“One quart cream, one quart milk, one dozen tablespoons sugar, one pint brandy, ½ pint rye whiskey, ½ pint Jamaica rum, ¼ pint sherry – mix liquor first, then separate yolks and whites of 12 eggs, add sugar to beaten yolks, mix well.
Add milk and cream, slowly beating. Beat whites of eggs until stiff and fold slowly into mixture. Let set in cool place for several days. Taste frequently.”
