Things must get a little boring at times when you’re up in the space station for almost a year.
Either that or astronauts get SPACE MADNESS!
One of the two led to astronaut Scott Kelly wearing a gorilla suit while in space in 2016. A recently released video is going viral. It shows Scott getting into a large paper bag then coming out in full costume. None of the other astronauts on board had any idea this was going to happen. It’s funny, because there isn’t any gravity and he appears to be disoriented coming out of the bag, tripping himself up, quickly floating down a hallway away from the camera, and then seemingly chasing another, confused looking astronaut back up the hallway towards the camera.
Scott’s twin brother Mark sent the suit as part of a personal care package. Because, that’s what brother’s do. If you’re in the hostile confines of space where every little resource could be a matter of life or death, they send you a gorilla suit. I would expect nothing less of my brothers.
Astronaut Mark Kelly once smuggled a full gorilla suit on board the International Space Station. He didn’t tell anyone about it. One day, without anyone knowing, he put it on. (source: Reddit) pic.twitter.com/v7aVunL7QF
