Woman almost lost millions of dollars because an e-mail went to the junk folder.

A woman in Michigan almost missed out on winning a $3 million lottery prize because she didn’t check the “Junk” folder of her e-mail.

I didn’t know you could do this, but Laura Spears had entered the Mega Million through the Michigan website… without a physical ticket. When she won, they sent a notification e-mail that went straight to spam. It’s pretty common for e-mail settings to filter words like “lottery” and “prize” to spam. You can thank all those Nigerian princes and eastern European hackers for that. That’s something I would have thought the Michigan Powerball people would have known. Anyway, Laura only found it after she went looking for an e-mail from a friend that she never received.

She thought it was fake at first, because 99.9% of them are. Again, doesn’t Michigan’s lottery people know better than to send e-mails about winning prizes???? However, she double checked at the lottery website and confirmed it. Laura plans on sharing some of that money with family.
If I won millions of dollars, I‘d send everyone in my family, including myself, back to college, tech school or wherever that can help them get their dream job.
