If you’re a lover of Coca-Cola, then you’ll have high interest in this new flavor. But my immediate question is, how does Coke know what outer space tastes like?
Debuting on Monday is Coca-Cola Starlight. What’s it taste like? Well, we don’t know the REAL flavor . . . but the folks at Coke say it’s inspired by space and has, quote, “notes reminiscent of stargazing around a campfire . . . as well as a cooling sensation that evokes the feeling of a cold journey to space.”
That’s quite the description.
Starlight will be around for a limited time. Both original and zero-sugar options hit stores nationwide on Monday. One reporter who tried it said it tastes like regular Coke, just sweeter. And it’s red, which was, quote, “inspired by the light of the stars.”
Fun Fact: 85% of stars in our galaxy are red dwarfs, but they’re too dim to see with the naked eye. Also, a 2009 study found the center of the Milky Way might taste like raspberries and rum. So maybe that informed the flavor too.
