A bear in New Milford, Connecticut thought he was getting an easy meal when he jumped a fence to get into the pen of Rebecca Shaw’s pet pigs. She and her partner Kevin David, have a security camera that caught the whole thing, including the part where the domesticated pork chops rushed the bear, scaring him into eventually running away. It’s not the behavior you’d normally expect. Rebecca says the smaller of the two oinkers, Hammy, is normally afraid of his own shadow. But, if you watch the video, you can see him storm into the fray, causing the bear to rethink lunch. Then Hammy stares the bear down until the bear jumps back over the fence. Hammy and his pen mate Mary, are Vietnamese potbellied pigs and they’re both fine after the bear scuffle.
