Reese Witherspoon is probably going to make a movie with Dolly Parton starring in it. Reese’s media company Hello Sunshine just snatched up the rights to the novel “Run Rose, Run” that Dolly wrote with James Patterson. The book is about an aspiring country singer and a retired country superstar. Dolly has mentioned a few times that she would love to play that retired star if it gets turned into a movie. Reese obviously loves Dolly. She said, “Dolly Parton is not only an icon to me, but a true inspiration to women and girls everywhere.” She went on to call Run Rose, Run a gripping, heart breaking book that she couldn’t put down and that she would be honored to turn it into a movie.
Reese has been busy. She’s producing a Netflix series “From Scratch” starring Zoe Saldana. She also produce “Big Little Lies” on HBO as well as “The Morning Show” and “Truth Be Told” on Apple TV. There’s another upcoming series called “Daisy Jones and The Six” she’s producing. Oh yeah, she’s also got a book club. She’s done an amazing job with her media company. So much so, that she sold it for $900 million last year. She’s still in charge though. You should check it out. Here’s the link to Hello Sunshine.
