Harrison Ford is starring in a TV series for the first time ever. Apple TV has nabbed him for the series called “Shrinking”. He’s going to play a psychiatrist who has a practice with two other doctors, one played by Jason Segal. The show actually focuses on Jason’s character, a grieving therapist who breaks the rules by telling his clients what he actually thinks of them and their problems. After, it changes people’s lives including his own. Ford will play Dr. Phil Rhodes, a down-to earth, sharp as a tack “blue collar shrink,” blunt but with an ever present twinkle.
I love Harrison Ford. I can’t tell you how many times I pretended to be Han Solo flying the Millennium Falcon when I was a kid. Other kids wanted to be Luke Skywalker because of the lightsaber and the force stuff, but Han was just cooler. I liked Indiana Jones too, but never pretended to be him. Being in space was more fun. Especially when you made your friends pretend to be a hairy Wookie and do that growl thing Chewbacca does.
“Shrinking” will be 10 episodes and put together by the same people who did “Ted Lasso”.
