It’s life imitating art. Pete Davidson did a parody song video called “Short A** Movies”. It was a rap about how long movies put people to sleep and leave you uncomfortable from sitting too long and so on. They listed a bunch of examples of movies too long and ones that were good short ones.
Netflix, showing marketing genius, responded with a tweet that had Pete’s video and the caption “Good Idea” as well as a link to a brand new category on their website called “Short A** Movies”. It’s a real thing now. The page has everything from “Scary Movie 4” to “Rumor Has It” with Jennifer Aniston. They’ve broken it down into genres and everything. I’m not sure how long most of them are, but I think it’s 90 minutes or less.
Pete’s kind of right. Jenny and I will pull up movies on streaming all the time and then we’ll decide not to watch because the movie will seem like it kills off too much of the day so you can’t do anything. That’s unless you watch it starting at 8 or 9 in the morning. We’ve actually done that. Then we’ll have time to fix a nice lunch and do something with our afternoon.
