A dear friend once told me, “it’s great to live in the future.” And the older I get the more I agree. Case in point . . . edible, adhesive tape to keep your burrito wrapped.
YES, please!
Engineering students from Johns Hopkins University have created an edible, adhesive tape called . . . you guessed it . . . “Tastee Tape.” Okay, actually I didn’t guess that. Lol. The objective is to keep burritos and other wrapped foods sealed up while you’re eating.
The smarty pants at Johns Hopkins tested a “multitude” of ingredients before settling on a final recipe which is edible, safe, and has the strength to keep the fattest burrito closed. At this moment, they aren’t disclosing the secret formula because they’re applying for a patent (which is smart) so it’s unclear when it could be available.
The “Tastee Tape” looks like small rectangular strips that are roughly half an inch by two inches. They come on a wax paper . . . and to use them, you just peel one off, wet it thoroughly, and stick it on the food you want to hold together.
Like I said, it’s great to live in the future. Can’t wait!
Go here for an example of the tape. The photo shows a clear and dyed example.
