If you eat Kraft cheese, there’s a good chance it spent some time in a cave outside of Springfield, Missouri.
It’s an old limestone cave with millions of repurposed square feet. And it’s a really good place to let cheese age because it’s cool with no sunlight. But cheese isn’t the only thing they keep there. Half the stuff you put in your kids’ lunchboxes goes there too: Jello, Lunchables, Oscar Meyer meats, and more.
The cave is called Springfield Underground. It’s so big inside that they have over 3 miles of lit roadway in the caves. Semis drive around in it.
Other companies store stuff there. Weirdly, some wish to remain anonymous.
