I should really pay more attention to what goes into my mouth. My doctor said my Vitamin D was low, so I’ve been taking Vitamin D supplements. I guess I assumed that they get the vitamins out of fruit or by squeezing fish like they do to get Omega 3. I would never have thought, “I bet they get this stuff from sheep.” Actually, sheep’s wool. That’s right, the same stuff your grandfathers itchy suit jacket is made of also helps produce the “D” they put in capsules. Scientists somehow figured out that it you take a certain kind of chemical from the lanolin in wool and then expose it to UV radiation, that you can get it to produce vitamin D.
Just an FYI, Vitamin B if made in vats of bacteria that they allow to ferment. Vitamin C starts as glucose and is synthesized into Vitamin C. 80% of the world’s human made Vitamin C comes from China.
