When the first edition of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” first came out in June of 1997, there were tons of errors. Things like not including an “s” on the word philosopher and other small things that the editors didn’t catch. Those copies are now valued at a quarter million dollars each now. It has to be in good condition and I think it has to be signed. But I think they were all signed. From what I understand, there were 500 copies, all signed. But now, they think there are 200 still floating around.
Can you imagine if you had all 200? That’d be $50 million worth of Harry Potter books! Even then, it’d only be a fraction of how much money JK Rowling has. As of May this year, her worth is listed as a billion dollars. There’s a thousand million in a billion. 50 million is 5 percent. That’s a dinner tip.
